Paul is a twenty-five year guitar player who plays both lead and rhythm. He’s been active in the music scene since he was a teen and has released solo records in addition to group albums. His musical influences include everything from classical music to blues, rock, soul, funk, pop, and even metal. This collection features the best of his guitar playing on three CDs in one DVD.

On the DVD, he demonstrates his playing technique, including finger picking, alternate picking, hammer-ons, string bending, vibrato, slides, picking variants, etc. He demonstrates his creativity with chord structure and change of chords, with the usual C, D, E and A chord structures in addition to others.

Paul has an original band with comprising members from his previous bands. The group is named Paul Gilbert and the Epics. This collection features violinist/percussionist Dominick La Vita, together with keyboards and guitarists Brian Chamberlain (guitarist in a band named Cirrhythmia), Lee Ritenour (drums), Tim Bluhm (guitarist in a band called Touch), and Brian McTague (bass). The band has released an album entitled, “The Best of Live.”
